Hi there! Let's keep this simple

Welcome to Dr Sex Ed. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are the rules for using drsexed.ai and the Dr Ed app at drsexed.ai/chat (together, the "Service"). The Service is run by DR SEX ED AI UNIVERSITY INC, a Florida not-for-profit corporation and 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 33-4612296) ("Dr Sex Ed," "we," "us").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you (see "Kids under 13" below).

What Dr Sex Ed is

• It's free. The Service costs nothing to use.
• It's a video chat with an AI avatar. You pick and customize your avatar, including its name (the default is Dr Ed, "my friends call me Eddie"), persona, age, gender, orientation and likeness, and then you video chat with it.
• It's education, not a doctor. Dr Ed gives general sex education information. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy or counseling, and it doesn't create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship. For anything about your own health, talk to a qualified health professional.
• AI can be wrong. Dr Ed is artificial intelligence. Answers can be incomplete, outdated or just plain wrong. Please double-check important information with a trusted professional or source.

Not for emergencies

Dr Ed can't help in an emergency and doesn't contact anyone for you.

• If you or someone else is in danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number).
• If you're thinking about suicide or are in emotional crisis, call or text 988 (the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US).

Using the Service

• You don't need an account or a password to chat with Dr Ed. Just open drsexed.ai/chat and start talking.
• Giving us your email is optional. If you choose to add it, use an email you control. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing info@drsexed.ai.

Who can use Dr Sex Ed

Anyone can start a chat. We have two groups, each with its own age-appropriate limits and controls:

• Ages 13 and up. You can use the Service on your own. Teens get age-appropriate content limits, with separate settings for ages 13–17 and 18 and up.
• Kids under 13. After a short, general intro, Dr Ed will ask for a parent or guardian's email address. The child can keep chatting only after the parent confirms consent. Before consent, the only thing we collect is the parent's email, and we delete it if consent isn't given. Parents can turn chat off at any time. See the Children's Privacy section of our Privacy Policy.

Please tell the truth about your age. If you're a parent and want to review, change or delete your child's information, email info@drsexed.ai.

No explicit content for minors

The Service is educational. We do not provide sexually explicit content to minors, and age-appropriate limits apply to users under 18. There is no sexually explicit content for any age group.

Be cool: acceptable use

Please don't use the Service to:

• break any law, or help anyone else break one;
• harass, threaten, exploit or harm anyone, including by impersonating a real person without permission;
• create, request or share any sexual content involving minors (we report child sexual exploitation to the appropriate authorities as required by law);
• upload or use someone else's face, voice or likeness to customize an avatar without their permission;
• try to trick the AI into producing harmful, hateful or illegal content;
• hack, overload, scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service or its security;
• use the Service to build a competing product, or use bots or automated access without our written permission;
• pretend to be older or younger than you are, or use the Service on someone else's behalf without their permission.

We may limit, suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules or puts others at risk.

Camera and microphone

Video chat uses your device's camera and microphone, which your browser or device will ask your permission for. You can say no or turn them off at any time in your browser or device settings, but parts of the video chat may not work without them. See the Privacy Policy for how this data is handled.

"Make me better"

Chats aren't kept after they end, unless you tap Save (kept up to 30 days so Dr Ed can remember you) or click "Make me better." When you do, you're choosing to share that chat with us so we can improve Dr Ed. You give us permission to use what you shared for that purpose, as described in the Privacy Policy. Please don't share anything in a chat you don't want us to see before clicking it.

Your content and our stuff

• Your content. You keep any rights you have in what you say or upload. You give us the limited permission we need to run the Service (for example, to process your words and video in real time so Dr Ed can respond), and, if you click "Make me better," to use that chat to improve the Service.
• Our content. The Service, the Dr Ed avatar, our designs, text, logos and software belong to Dr Sex Ed or our licensors. You can use them for your own personal, non-commercial learning. Please don't copy, sell or redistribute them without permission.
• AI responses. You may use answers you get for your own personal, educational purposes.

Third-party services

We use trusted service providers to run the Service, such as a hosting provider, plus AI, voice and video avatar providers. Links to other sites (like drsexed.org) are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for third-party sites.

Changes to the Service

We're a nonprofit building something new, so features may change, pause or stop. We may change or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that AI responses will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Dr Sex Ed and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers and partners won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any AI response. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Indemnity

If you misuse the Service or break these Terms and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, to the extent allowed by law. (This doesn't apply to children under 13.)

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida in Broward County, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date, and for big changes we'll give extra notice (like a notice on the site or in the app). If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Other legal bits

If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
